Ready, Set, Done – Today, write about anything – but you must write for exactly ten minutes, no more, no less.
I’ve recently started skateboarding, a hobby I’ve always wanted to pickup but never actually got around to it. A friend also wanted to try, so we decided to get boards together and started practicing. It has now become one of my favorite activities: I love going out in the middle of the night when no one is around and just cruise around the neighborhood; I love the challenge of trying to learn what is seemingly just a simple jump (I still can’t ollie yet, but I’m almost there!!); I love the wind rushing through my hair on my way to class. The mixture of what is seemingly freedom, recklessness and awareness just hits a spot within me that I can’t control: I want to go faster, push it harder and just keep on riding.
Its been only a month or so, but I’ve already fallen in love with this sensation. One of the highlights of my week is riding downhill from the bus stop to campus everything Thursday night for the night class I am taking: that one mile long stretch of road is just a joy to go down.
Aaaaaaand that’s time.
